Custom Fit Lenses

Dr. P. Douglas Becherer developed a computerized prescribing technique that allows a doctor to totally custom design a contact lens for any patient, even if they have extremely strong prescriptions, have large amounts of astigmatism or have both and need a bifocal. These lenses are custom designed for every patient.

Difficult Prescriptions

Our doctors are known for our care of unique and difficult prescriptions. Patients with corneal diseases such as keratoconus, pellucid marginal degeneration or are scarred from refractive surgery can lead a normal life with properly prescribed specialty contact lenses.
Extended Wear Lenses
These lenses have a long life span and can be used over an extended period of time. First, you must be specially fitted for the right lenses for your eyes. Our eye care professionals will personally advise you in detail about the features of these lenses and how to care for them.
Monthly Wear
Monthly wear lenses can be used for up to four weeks, and thanks to their high oxygen permeability, they can often be worn throughout the day and overnight without being removed once. That means clear vision every morning as soon as you open your eyes.

More advantages for you: Due to the relatively short period during which these lenses are worn, it's nearly impossible for them to become dirty, and they still remain flexible when your eyesight changes.
Daily Wear
These especially soft, disposable lenses are only worn once so they're ideal to use as a reserve or for temporary use, like when playing sports. These lenses also offer optimal hygiene. They don't require cleaning or disinfection, and you won't have to deal with the inconvenience of caring for or storing them.
Our Extensive History with Contacts
For generations our practice has specialized in contact lens care. Dr. Paul F. Becherer was one of the first doctors to prescribe contact lenses in 1946. His original contact lens fitting set is displayed on the wall of the receptions room next to Dr. P. Douglas Becherer's 2004 and 2018 contact lens patent.

Dr. Paul F. Becherer was noted to have developed mono-vision technique allowing mature patients to be able to see at both distance and near in 1955.
